The political disturbances in Bangladesh have affected textile and apparel business in the country to some extent, but has not dampened the spirit of the textile entrepreneur. Garment factory owners are in expansion mode. They are looking at diversifying product mix, especially by increasingly using polyester fabrics.
Till some years ago, garmenters were importing this fabric from China. Looking at the growing demand in this segment, the textile manufacturers have begun making this in the country, since the last 2-3 years. This is an important development in this sector. And Lisky has some interesting offerings in this segment. The year 2014 has been very important for us in terms launching machines. We have introduced for the first time in Bangladesh, 46“ fine guage machine. We also for the first time introduced double Jersey Auto Stripper specially for ribbed. This machine offers 100% increase in productivity. Customers have appreciated this machine.
One limitation for rib stripper in our country was that bigger diameter machines were not normally available. Mostly available diameters were 32" and 36". We offer bigger diameter rib auto stripper - 42", 44", 46" and 64". This development significantly improved our market share in the country. The lower diameter machines meant higher fabric wastage. Wastages have been minimised with the new larger diameter machines, effecting higher savings for users.
All our customers, including large groups like Square, Palmal, etc, have bought the machines and are happy with the results. We are also the first in Bangladesh to introduce bigger diameter roller machines in 2014, which again reduces wastages. Regular machines accommodate fabric rolls of 20-25 kg. This means a lot of fabric wastage during the dyeing process. We thus came up with larger rollers of 80-100 kgs. We have already sold 10-12 machines in each of the three categories of new generation machines. We have sold 20 higher diameter auto rib stripper machines.
DTG is a great platform where we always participate, and get an opportunity to interact with the who's who of the industry and the technical experts. This helps us understand the industry's requirements, so we can develop specific solutions for them. Lisky is the highest selling machine in its segment. In the last four years we sold as many as 5000 machines. This is because we try and offer the solutions that the industry is looking for.
