How is the Bangladesh market for Fongs?
For Fongs, Bangladesh has been the number one export market outside of China. We have a strong customer base in the country, a strong agent, good service back-up. Investments, to some extent, have slowed down due to the gas crisis, slowing down new projects. The government needs to address this issue. Compared to India and China, Bangladesh has a major advantage with the cheapest gas supply. The industry is not worried about getting export orders, buyers are still flocking to Bangladesh. But the gas supply situation is hurting investments.
How was DTG for you this time?
Fongs THEN machines are much in demand in the Bangladesh market. DTG is an important platform for Fongs'. We never miss DTG. The Bangladesh dyeing and processing industry is equipped with different levels of technology, and we are convinced that the hydraulics technology is more acceptable in market. Aerodynamic technology is still considered too far ahead by the industry. Our latest technology would be showcased in ITMA 2015 Milan, so we have come with the same technology in DTG 2015 as last year.
How do you see the Bangladesh market progressing?
In my personal opinion, Bangladesh will remain one of the largest suppliers of knitted garments and sweaters (flat knitting). Yes spinning and weaving might grow, but I don't expect very strong momentum because requirements in these segments are already fulfilled by China and India in global market.
How is the Indian market for Fong's?
Indian market has been very good for us. Market sentiments have improved, the new textile policies and schemes are helping the industry. Our business in India is growing very well, our business turnover in India is very close to the Bangladesh market. Comparatively I believe in 2015, India would probably be a better market than Bangladesh with the help of the new textile park policy.
What would be your message to the potential customers of the Fongs machines?
For new potential customers, I will say that Fongs machines offer the best price performance ratio compared to any other supplier.
