Post-Budget, MoT Pushes For TEEM And Tex Eco
The
Ministry of Textiles held its first post-budget National Industry Consultation
on 19 February 2026, uniting government officials, industry leaders, and
stakeholders to operationalise the Textile Expansion and Employment (TEEM)
Scheme and Tex Eco Initiative. The session highlighted production
modernisation, MSME support, sustainability, circularity, and global
competitiveness. Rohit Kansal underscored the textile-focused Union Budget’s
investment and employment push, while Neelam Shami Rao emphasised new free
trade agreements expanding export opportunities. Interactive discussions led to
practical recommendations on approvals, financing, skilling, and green
manufacturing. The consultation concluded with a shared commitment to position
India as a credible, competitive, and sustainable global textile hub.
