With a capacity of 2625 metric tonne per annum (MTPA), Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) has rolled out a fully drawn yarn (FDY) plant at Kosamba (Surat). "Under the present competitive market of Nylon filament yarn, GSFC will achieve new milestones with the production of newly installed FDY plant. Annual production capacity of the FDY plant is 2625 MT, which would increase the turnover by Rs 70 crores," remarked GSFC in a press release.
The company is looking forward to a profit making model at Kosamba and therefore have decided to set up a new partially oriented yarn (POY) line with advance technology for the production of Gujnyl, GSFC's Nylon filament yarn brand, so that production capacity and turnover of the same can be increased. Through these improvements, GSFC is aiming to generate Rs 1000 crores in turnover for the fibre unit.
