Cambodia Gets EU-Ready
Cambodia is getting its textile industry ready for the EU’s sustainability rulebook. The second phase of FABRIC Cambodia, backed by Germany, will help textile, garment, footwear and travel-goods manufacturers tackle requirements around supply-chain due diligence, sustainability reporting and Digital Product Passports. But this is not just about paperwork. The programme will push factories towards better efficiency, renewable energy, wastewater management, circular production and greater supply chain transparency. The message is blunt: green up or risk losing ground in key export markets. For Cambodia, sustainability is no longer a nice-to-have. It is becoming part of the cost of staying competitive.
