Bharat Merchants’ Chamber Felicitates Emerging Textile Leaders at NextGen Awards

Bharat Merchants’ Chamber, one of India’s oldest institutions dedicated to textile trade and commerce, hosted the prestigious NextGen Recognition Awards on 15th July 2025 at CCI Club, Churchgate, Mumbai. The ceremony honoured young leaders transforming legacy textile businesses with innovation and modernisation.

The event saw the presence of Chief Guest Shri Sunil Deodhar and Guest of Honour Smt. Roop Rashi, Textile Commissioner, whose motivating speeches called on the youth to focus on organic growth, excellence and nation-first thinking in business. Six young achievers received commemorative mementos for their pioneering role in shaping the future of family-run textile enterprises. The awardees included Shivanshu Ramesh Gupta, Aarti Jhunjhunwala, Prithvi Sanjay Bhagat, Shripat Jagirdar, Divya Kumar Sunil Siraslewala and Sherry Mukim. Each award acknowledged efforts in reviving traditional textile operations through digitalisation, sustainable practices and new-age branding.

The gathering reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to nurturing future-ready leadership in India’s textile ecosystem. Senior Chamber members including President Shri Narendra Podar, Ratan Poddar, Shyam Sunder Khaitan, Anand Prakash Gupta, Santosh Tulsiyan, Shiv Kanodia and Sanjay Agarwal expressed optimism on the generational shift currently underway in the sector. The event celebrated more than recognition. It represented the passing of the baton from seasoned industry veterans to dynamic successors, ready to re-establish India as a dominant force in global textiles. The evening reinforced a collective vision where traditional strengths meet contemporary ambition, building a robust future for Indian textiles.
