BEST Corporation of Tamil Nadu is setting up an ultra modern textile unit in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 60 crore. The company performed the bhumi pujan recently. The plant will be operational in 2022, and will provide direct employment to 4,000 women. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Pratibha Syntex too will do the bhumi pujan of their plant next month in Ujjain. "Not only this, an investment of Rs 3000 crore will be made by Grasim in Nagda in different phases. A new era of industries is about to begin in Ujjain district," he said. Chouhan further informed that proposals for investment of Rs 1017 crore have been received in Vikram Udyogpuri by other companies including Karnataka Antibiotics, Sai Machines, Amul and Srinivas. Chouhan said that BEST Corporation, based in Tirupur, decided to invest in Madhya Pradesh. "We had started this effort of bringing investments into Madhya Pradesh four years ago. We are now seeing the results." The CM stated that adequate land is being made available for the industry and industrialists are being fully supported by the Industrial Development Corporation and the Industries Department. "The way investors are getting attracted towards Ujjain, this will create a chain of industries here." He said, "150 acres more land has been sought by BEST Corporation for a new plant. Without delay, the land will be offered to the company." The state government will also begin training of women in batches of 250 each, the state's Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav informed. The state government expects that the industry-friendly policies will trigger continuous industrial development of the state, creating employment for the local people. Chouhan appealed to the people to cooperate with the industrialists to maintain a good industrial environment.
