Epic Group Ready To Launch Mega Garment Plant at Ranchi

Epic Group, a multinational headquartered in Hong Kong has made forays into the Indian market recently and at the onset has expressed intentions to invest USD 20 million for setting up its full-fledged plant at Ranchi, capital of Jarkhand state. A two year gestation period will be incurred to set up the manufacturing facility, machinery and training the workforce. It is good news on the employment front too with the Epic Group’s outfit absorbing 4000 workers in its task force directly and indirectly employing 20,000 people. The Epic Group management expressed the sentiment that Ranchi is the most promising location for setting up their plant. The plant will be a greenfield garment unit that has a capacity of 40 lines. Epic Group boasts of a prestigious client list that includes Walmart, JC Penney, Kohl’s Levi’s Uniglo, H&M, Tesco and Sainsbury. The company expects to do brisk business within the next 24 months in India. Within a span of 10 years the company expects to employ 20,000 people in its workforce directly. The Epic Group currently has strong presence in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ethiopia and Jordan. Lion’s share of the Epic Group comes from the US market, nearly 70%. Europe, Japan and China account for rest of the revenue. Epic Group is currently shipping its products to 47 countries.
