ColorJet Offers 3Es - Economic, Efficient, Ecological Printing

High quality prints, low carbon footprint, better inventory management, continuous improvement in technology are some of the factors driving the growth of textile digital printing. M.S. Dadu, Managing Director, ColorJet talks about how his technologies stand apart from competition. What's new at ColorJet? ColorJet for the first time is coming up with a complete digital pigment printing solution for every customer regardless of business size. ColorJet is also strengthening its high speed direct to fabric and sublimation printing machine with a target to offer 5000-10000 meters daily production. What has been ColorJet's strategy for survival and growth since 2020, given the pandemic, the lockdowns, the uncertainty? This pandemic has surely affected the textile industry at a global level. Covid-19 has changed the market trends with the diversification of the supply chain towards localisation. Customers want to print on demand keeping no extra stock which results in the formation of regional hubs near to the consumer. This is where digital printing comes into play more effectively. Apart from this, export is picking up gradually and India is installing new set-ups to cater to foreign demand. We have done quite a number of installations in India and abroad during the lockdown. Our dedicated sales and service team have been trying continuously to serve our customers virtually alongside our local teams. In this tough time, we have observed the increase in health consciousness and well-being among people. Keeping this in mind, we have introduced Oxyvent - designer face filter mask with all safety requirements. We have also introduced MaskJet - A nonwoven disposal melt-blown mask making machine. Moreover, higher demand for sustainable textiles and apparels is also driving the growth of digital printing in the global textile industry. According to you, how will the markets pan out in 2021 and 2022? We all have seen the global and domestic market going downwards during the pandemic. Though coronavirus did hamper the industry, now the situation is improving. A number of countries are free from Covid-19; many have opened up tourism while some are still under lockdown. In this situation of mixed demands, we are eyeing a good growth of digital textile printing. In the textile printing industry, there has been a growth in demand for home textile, protective textile, and sports textile because of increasing health consciousness among consumers and more presence at home. Also, it is worthy to mention that consumers' buying decision is no longer dependent only on style and creativity (particularly in EU), but they are also looking at sustainable products. More eco points besides good quality products increase the demand for digital printing. Rapidfire Round With M.S. Dadu What will drive environmental sustainability in textile printing? Less water consumption; and fewer inventories of unsold stocks as one can print any quantity hence lowering the carbon footprint. Digital printing is the solution here. An important innovation that your users are working on using ColorJet digital printing technology? Besides fashion and home textiles, our customers are printing on rugs and towels as well with our 16 head printer, Vastrajet, the best-selling machine from the house of ColorJet. The results have been amazing and our customers are content with the quality. Two exemplary features offered by ColorJet technology?  The first one is definitely, ColorJet AiS - Adaptive Ink System, which provides the customer flexibility to use ink of its own choice to fulfill multiple purposes. AiS™ works to ensure the long life of print heads. Next is the water recirculation system enabling reduction of water usage to a fraction of what other digital printers require to print the same length of fabric. Two principles that are the reason for Colorjet's success? We in ColorJet believe in 3Es - providing an Economic, Efficient and Ecological printing solution to our customers be it entry level or high end. We also consider customer's feedback as the most important point for improving our technology. Important business goals for you in 2021?  To expand sales and service in 8-10 new countries is one of the prime goals in 2021.
